In the Sul Empire, power is bound by magical contracts, and the empire never rests in its eternal war with the children of the Tul-Tul-Tar—the devourers of memory.
Lotem Jarval hunts the monsters who consumed his brother’s memory. Sylva Strenath seeks magical truths—and a life beyond the Sect of Silken Grace. Hadrian of Cutra dreams of expanding the Empire’s borders, no matter the cost. Together, they enter the Imperial Training Realm of Aslavain, where ancient rites forge legends—or corpses.
But they are not the only ones awakening. The infamous Triumvirate of the Broken Crown—formed by the Crownless, the Archivist, and the Harbinger—have returned from centuries of slumber to guide a new generation. Yet beneath the gilded halls of power, old enemies stir, and long-dead threats rise.
If these mentors fail again, the Empire may not fall to war this time—but to erasure. The monsters of the Tul-Tul-Tar have returned. And with them comes unending hunger.
About Me
Hi! My name is Wyatt McGillen, and I am the author of The Empire of Silk and Bone. I’ve been a lifelong reader with a deep passion for the fantasy genre, particularly the uniquely engaging world of web serials. My favorite series is The Wandering Inn, but I’ve delved into many of the major titles within Progression Fantasy, LitRPG, and modern fantasy.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Politics and Government, History, and Philosophy from Ripon College. I hope my background in these fields enriches my writing and brings depth to the themes I explore. To me, great fantasy should provoke thought, challenge perspectives, and inspire readers to reflect on their own values. The most memorable stories leave an imprint, however small. My goal is for my writing to reach that standard and resonate with readers in a meaningful way.
