Lotem Jarval dreamed only of quiet pastures and a herder’s simple life—until the Tul ogres devoured his brother, stealing even the memory of his existence. Consumed by grief, Lotem swears vengeance upon the ancestral enemies of the Sul Empire, no matter what it costs him.
Hadrian of Cutra grew up beyond the empire’s borders, chasing the impossible dream of expanding Sul’s territory for the first time in centuries. When the legendary Titan of Carven Bone chooses him as a champion, Hadrian realizes his impossible dream may be closer than he ever imagined.
Sylva Strenath, a Silkborn trained to become a once in a generation talent, must win glory in the Eternal Contest—or face disgrace. Tasked by the Sect of Silken Grace, Sylva will either ascend as a prodigy or vanish into obscurity.
Bound by an oath deeper than blood, the three must trust one another—or risk watching their dreams crumble into ruin.
Meanwhile, the Triumvirate of the Broken Crown—legendary heroes reborn after centuries asleep—awaken to find the empire blindly drifting toward catastrophe. The Crownless, the Archivist, and the Harbinger, champions forged by past apocalypses, recognize the signs: a Third Apocalypse approaches. And this time, the Empire might not survive.

About Me
Hi! My name is Wyatt McGillen, and I am the author of The Empire of Silk and Bone. I’ve been a lifelong reader with a deep passion for the fantasy genre, particularly the uniquely engaging world of web serials. My favorite series is The Wandering Inn, but I’ve delved into many of the major titles within Progression Fantasy, LitRPG, and modern fantasy.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Politics and Government, History, and Philosophy from Ripon College. I hope my background in these fields enriches my writing and brings depth to the themes I explore. To me, great fantasy should provoke thought, challenge perspectives, and inspire readers to reflect on their own values. The most memorable stories leave an imprint, however small. My goal is for my writing to reach that standard and resonate with readers in a meaningful way.
